Girls of American History is a multi-sensory curriculum that uses the American Girl book series, and follows a pattern of "Read it, Hear it, See it, Write it, and Do it". This is a hands-on curriculum, and allows you to choose the best activities for your students. These activites are great ways to expose your students to new skills and hobbies. See the resources section for each unit for suggested activities.
This curriculum is appropriate and well liked by both girls and boys; with strong male and female characters in each book. The entire class can get involved in various games, meals, crafts and field trips - an engaging and memorable way to learn about our nation's history.
The teacher license is good for the purchasing teacher only and never expires. The person who has ownership, has permissions to teach the units purchased to as many students as he/she likes. Copies may not be made for other teachers, families, students or schools/co-ops - as it would violate the copyright policy. The teacher retains ownership of the material.

During this time period you might consider including some background of WWI, countries involved in both WWI and WWII, the Nazi Regime, Anne Frank, the Holocaust, and more. Craft and field trip ideas from the time period are included in the unit to help enhance the study.
