Girls of American History is a multi-sensory curriculum that uses the American Girl book series, and follows a pattern of "Read it, Hear it, See it, Write it, and Do it". This is a hands-on curriculum, and allows you to choose the best activities for your students. These activites are great ways to expose your students to new skills and hobbies. See the resources section for each unit for suggested activities.
This curriculum is appropriate and well liked by both girls and boys; with strong male and female characters in each book. The entire class can get involved in various games, meals, crafts and field trips - an engaging and memorable way to learn about our nation's history.
The teacher license is good for the purchasing teacher only and never expires. The person who has ownership, has permissions to teach the units purchased to as many students as he/she likes. Copies may not be made for other teachers, families, students or schools/co-ops - as it would violate the copyright policy. The teacher retains ownership of the material.
Multisensory learning is ideal for every kind of learner - because each learner gets to experience learning the way they are most comfortable - but they also have the opportunity to learn through other senses. Studies and research have shown that learning material through multiple senses helps children to retain information better.
