Girls of American History is a multi-sensory curriculum that uses the American Girl book series, and follows a pattern of "Read it, Hear it, See it, Write it, and Do it". This is a hands-on curriculum, and allows you to choose the best activities for your students. These activites are great ways to expose your students to new skills and hobbies. See the resources section for each unit for suggested activities.
This curriculum is appropriate and well liked by both girls and boys; with strong male and female characters in each book. The entire class can get involved in various games, meals, crafts and field trips - an engaging and memorable way to learn about our nation's history.
The teacher license is good for the purchasing teacher only and never expires. The person who has ownership, has permissions to teach the units purchased to as many students as he/she likes. Copies may not be made for other teachers, families, students or schools/co-ops - as it would violate the copyright policy. The teacher retains ownership of the material.
This set includes the units for Caroline®, Marie-Grace® and Cecile®, Rebecca® and Julie®. Main topics include - The War of 1812, Yellow Fever Epidemic of New Orleans, Jewish Immigrants, Vietnam and equal rights. Each unit is meant to last six weeks.

Crafts include; model boat project, flower arranging, tie dye, drawing, cooking and much more. Field trips and education vacation suggestions are also included. Includes four units that are six weeks in length each.
All units now include spelling and vocabulary, State/Country study, Character analysis worksheets, then and now comparison worksheet, news article prep, book summary, chapter summary with drawing, and digging deeper project suggestions.
