Girls of American History is a multi-sensory curriculum that uses the American Girl book series, and follows a pattern of "Read it, Hear it, See it, Write it, and Do it". This is a hands-on curriculum, and allows you to choose the best activities for your students. These activites are great ways to expose your students to new skills and hobbies. See the resources section for each unit for suggested activities.
This curriculum is appropriate and well liked by both girls and boys; with strong male and female characters in each book. The entire class can get involved in various games, meals, crafts and field trips - an engaging and memorable way to learn about our nation's history.
The co-op/school license is good for the purchasing co-op/school only and never expires. The co-op/school who has ownership, has permissions to teach the units purchased to as many classes as they like. Copies may not be made for other co-op/schools, families, students or teachers - as it would violate the copyright policy. The school retains ownership of the material.

This curriculum uses the original eight historical girls from the American Girl® collection. Those girls are Kaya, Felicity, Josefina, Kirsten, Addy, Samantha, Kit and Molly. This is a multi-sensory curriculum, integrating hearing, seeing, writing, saying, doing. This is a curriculum for both boys and girls. Don’t let the “Girls” part of the title fool you. Crafts include; pottery, leather work, weaving, drawing, cooking and much more. Field trips and education vacation suggestions are also included. Includes eight units that are six weeks in length each.

Kaya® - A six week unit study using the American Girl® Kaya® series books. This study gives boys and girls a look into the Pacific Northwest and the Nez Perce Indians in 1764. Although this particular unit pertains to a time in our history that is prior to the exploration of the Pacific Northwest and an establishment of a real organized government, the study of the Pacific Northwest and the Nez Perce Indians is still a rich part of the history of North America.
